Tasting notes: Intense and heavy color. Distinctive aroma of great intensity and complexity with floral notes. In the mouth it has good breadth and precision, seductive, with evident fruit very focused on the floral, it has good structure with dense but fine tannins. It stands out more for its freshness than for its concentration, the finish is long, seductive and persistent.
Vinification: The harvest took place in September with a careful selection of grapes in the vineyard. Destemming was complete and crushing was controlled. It had a pre-fermentation skin contact at low temperatures for 48 hours. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and maceration with moderate extraction lasted for a period of more than 40 days. In new stainless steel vats, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and immediately entered French oak barrels (500 liters) where it aged for 12 months.
Consumption Suggestions:
Bafarela Grande Reserva is a surprising wine that benefits from being opened some time before being consumed. Its elegant and complex profile pairs ideally with good meats, game and intense cheeses. If kept for a few years, it is natural for sediment to form in the bottle and should be opened carefully and decanted for better enjoyment. Serve between 16º-17ºC.
